All Coastal Empire Region Members,
With 2016 quickly coming to and end, I hope you had an opportunity to attend at least one of our many events this past year.
We continue to offer a variety of events, in particular, in the second half of 2016:
-Our second DE at Roebling Road Raceway on September 17th and 18th. Our third DE on December 3rd and 4th, again at Roebling Road. I’d like to thank our new Chief Driving Instructor, Steve Harrington for helping make our entire DE program a huge success, enabling our club to provide reductions in holiday party costs, charitable donations, and 15 year anniversary gifts.
-Savannah Speed Weekend at Hutchinson Island: October 28-30.
-HH Concours: November 5th and 6th with the CER dinner at Hudsons on the evening of the 5th. Thanks to Ned Kight for organizing this and arranging for our guest speaker.
-Wolf Mountain road trip on November 5th and 6th coordinated by Steve Potter.
-The CER Holiday and 15th club anniversary party on December 17th at Hampton Hall.
Thanks to Tracy Goucher who made the arrangements for this event and with her husband Steve, assembled the DER donated bicycles and donated the extra accessories for the bikes.
Thanks to our first club president Paul Jones, who provided items from his Porsche memorabilia collection for a silent auction. This auction brought in $970, which was donated to the Marines Toys for Tots program by Paul and his wife Margaret.
We also had planned to have a CER car show and luncheon at The Landings, but hurricane Matthew interfered and we will consider rescheduling in 2017-my thanks to Lawrence Lehr, who did a great job of putting this together.
As you can see, we conduct a variety of events and we always need volunteers and also welcome your suggestions. Please contact a member of the board if you have an idea for a future event, or if you would like to assist with an event already planned.
Please review the calendar of events(www.cerpca.net), for early 2107 including:
-Tech Session at Porsche of Hilton Head on January 21.
-Drive and Dine/Fort Fremont Driving Tour on February 18.
-March is still an open month – let us know if you have any suggestions!
-Charleston Spring Weekend-Harbor & USS Yorktown Tour on April 8 & 9.
As noted in my previous letters; we like to focus on providing events which enable us to drive our Porsches, as we are a car club!
We continue to grow and would encourage all of you to become involved in our activities.
With our recent board election just completed, I have been elected(write in) as President and will continue to be in this role in the near future.

Finally, I would like to acknowledge the continued dedication of the entire CER board throughout this year and in many cases past years.
I also urge you to support our sponsors; Bob Woodman Tires and Porsche of Hilton Head.
