Dine & Drive Skipper’s Fish Camp
85 Screven St.
All members are cordially invited to join us on 28 September, at 11:00 for a leisurely drive down Coastal Highway 17. Our starting point will be Love’s Truck Stop 338, exit 90 at GA144 and I95. After a short drive through Richmond Hill, take in a little low country history at the Midway Congregational Church built in 1754 and rebuilt in 1792 after being burned down by British forces during the Revolutionary War. The cemetery across the street is the final resting place for several prominent Georgians from American history. We will continue south on 17 and stop again at the “Smallest Church in America” road side attraction in Townsend, GA before stopping for lunch at Skipper’s Fish Camp. Total mileage will be about 45 miles with about 1 1/2 hours total time from Love’s to Skipper’s. After lunch you may choose to head back north up 17 or continue to enjoy some of the attractions in Darien such as the Jail and Art Museum or Fort King George.
Please RSVP to Jerry Pyle no later than 26 September to reserve seating for lunch at Skipper’s. Looking forward to seeing you there!
