Member Spotlight – Pop Seniwong

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Even though the Hilton Head Concours and Car Club Showcase have been postponed to 2021, we still want to ‘display’ the cars entries that we received and their owners to the broader car world via our club website and social media.  We’ll do that by highlighting one car/owner just about every week for the balance of this year.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT – Pop Seniwong

2020 718 GT4

My name is Pop Seniwong, and I must admit that I am a Porsche fanatic. I fell in love with Porsche 911 at the age 13, just like many children, so I continued to pursue my childhood dream of owning Porsche 911. Ownership opportunity did not come until 2001. As you all know that driving and owning Porsche are so addictive that you always want more…

My first Porsche was a 1979 911 SC after lusting over 20 years. How can you not fall in love with the 911 body style, especially the air-cooled ones? My second 911 was the 1999 996 Carrera. Yes, the fried-egg head lights water-cooled 911 that the purists hate. Well, I did not know any better at the time, but I could not resist having another 911. Third one came along was a 2006 Cayman S. Baby-Porsche, many claims when Cayman first introduced, but for me, it was a love at first sight. The most notable distinction of Cayman S was her body styles, the extra high read fenders. A sight to behold when looking directly from the rear. The first track day at the Roebling Road Raceway reinforced the purchase decision. My love of Porsche continued to 2012 racing yellow 911 Carrera, 2014 GT3 and another 2006 Cayman S. I could not get over the love of Cayman S.

My Cayman lust grew more when I first heard rumor about the 718 GT4, so I reached out to Porsche Hilton Head in 2018, but it was not until February 2019 that they would allow to put my name on the list. A few days after the launch of the 718 GT4 in July, my demand order went in the PCNA system. Like many Porsche lover, I played with the configurator daily to build this perfect GT4. I went through many options and color selections before settling with the Gentian Blue and Satin Aurum wheel color. The following is a highlight of my selection.

Exterior Color: Gentian Blue Metallic

Interior Color: Leather/Alcantara® Interior in Black with Yellow Stitching

Performance: 6-speed Manual Transmission, Chrono Package with Preparation for Lap Trigger, Brake Calipers in High Gloss Black

Lights and Vision: LED Headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), Light Design Package

Interior: Steering Wheel and Gear Lever in Black Leather, Full Bucket Seats, 2-Zone Automatic Climate Control, Smoking Package, Luggage Net in Passenger Footwell, Fire Extinguisher, Seat Belts in Racing Yellow Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, Stitching in Deviated Color

Interior Carbon Fiber: Interior Trim in Carbon Fiber i.c.w. Leather Interior

My 718 GT4 supposes to arrive by the end of May; however, the completion scheduled was pushed to the right during the factory shutdown due to CORONAVIRUS pandemic. The 718 GT4 should arrive US port by the end of July. The wait continues…..

Pictures are of similar spec GT4. Expecting to take delivery real soon!
